Whether you own and rent apartments, condos, townhouses, or business premises, the chances are your properties will have Crawlspaces. Another likelihood is the prospect of them not being in the greatest of shape, and the last thing you want is the possibility of either:
- Disgruntled tenants dealing with a severe rodent infestation in the Insulation directly below the sub-floor or:
- A 7,000 square foot property you own either minus a Vapor Barrier or sporting one so worn and torn that it has long ceased to be effective, thereby offering zero protection against rising moisture heading straight toward the sub floor of your investment. You either replace/install the vapor barrier or face the very distinct possibility of considerable financial outlay in repairing/replacing the sub floor due to the simple absence of a Vapor Barrier. Excessive moisture also creates extremely favorable conditions for the presence of wood destroying organisms such as termites and carpenter ants. ‘Spending a dime to save a dollar’ is never truer when weighing up the cost of installing a quality vapor barrier in relation to the both the possible financial and structural setbacks encountered due to its absence.
