Insulation

Nasty stuff to handle with less than friendly fiberglass particles, but as its name suggests, it does a wonderful job in keeping your home warm and your heating bills low.  Sitting directly below the sub-floor of your home, when walking on the ground floor, you’re never more than a few inches away from your insulation.  Its purpose, as described above, is by no means technical.  Not unlike wearing multiple, loose fitting layers in cold weather such as sweaters, vests, and t-shirts, its role is self-explanatory.

At Crawlspace Medics LLC, as we have a little over three decades of combined Pest Control experience, we have discovered that insulation also makes ideal nesting for rodents, particularly rats.  The signs and symptoms - depending on the severity - of such an infestation vary from a sharp, pungent and unpleasant odor emanating from both droppings but primarily urine, the former also being visually obvious in particularly heavy infestations.  Another big giveaway is torn and shredded insulation usually strewn all over the Crawlspace plus myriad droppings in said insulation coupled with the acrid odor of urine.  Not the most desirable environment for any homeowners’ Crawlspace given the close proximity of the unwelcome intruders.

If you’re unfortunate enough or even remotely suspect your home has such an infestation, the good news is that help is at hand.  At Crawlspace Medics LLC we specialize in rodent clean outs, remove and/or replace all soiled insulation (the Vapor Barrier is usually affected too), leaving your crawl space and home clean, fresh and brand new again.  Simply a mouse click or a ‘phone call away, please feel free to either Contact us or schedule a Free Ethical Inspection.  We do this every day, using only premium grade, code approved materials.

Claustrophobia, excessive moisture, dirt, dust, mice, rats or spiders?  Hopefully your crawl space has little or none of the above.  If it does we’ll let you know and offer you a professional cost effective solution there and then.  If it doesn’t we’re more than happy to let you know that too.
